Please ensure Bluetooth is correctly functioning on your PC (i.e. you can browse other Bluetooth devices), and that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Bluetooth must be enabled when creating SIS files with the PC application. If problems persist it may be prudent to update the Bluetooth drivers on your PC to their latest revisions. PhonePoint supports the Widcomm Bluetooth stack from version 1.3 onwards and the Microsoft stack (which is included as part of Windows XP from Service Pack 2). Most Bluetooth devices are upgradeable – refer to your Bluetooth supplier’s website.

2 ways you can enable your Task Manager

disabled.JPG

Before reading this post, please try out this first. Right-click in your System Tray /Task Bar and click on ‘Task Manager’. Is it grayed-out? This means that your Task Manager has been disabled? This is a very familiar scenario if your PC is suffering from a virus. Even if you are logged in as an administrator and you haven’t manually done anything to disable the task bar, the viruses do this so that you aren’t able to see or end the background processes that it is running and get rid of it.

So, how can you enable the Task Manager? There are 2 easy methods.

Method 1- Through Group Policy Editor

  • Go to Start -> Run
  • Type ‘gpedit.msc’ without quotes and enter. (Group Policy Editor will open)
  • Navigate to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Ctrl+Alt+Del Option
  • In the right pane you will see an entry ‘Remove Task Manager’, double click it (Remove Task Manager properties will open)
  • Select ‘Not configured’ and click OK and that’s it your task manager will be enabled.

Method 2 – Through Registry Editor

In this method we are going to change the “registry” settings. So, before making any changes make sure that you have backed up the registry properly in case you might change something else whose result can be not so pleasant.

  • Go to Start -> Run
  • Type ‘regedit’ without quotes and enter (Registry Editor will open)
  • Navigate yourself to ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ System’
  • In the right pane there is a DWORD value ‘DisableTaskMgr’
  • Double click it and change it’s value to ‘0’ (0 is for enabling and 1 is for disabling the Task Manager)
  • Exit the ‘Registry Editor’ and you are ready to use the ‘Task Manager’

You can use any of the above process according to your preference to enable the ‘Task Manager’.

Sony Ericsson M610i Lizy Phone

sony-ericsson-m610i-lizy-phone.jpg

Sony Ericsson M610i Lizy Phone has just finished FCC testing and has been approved. A date for its release has not been revealed so far. So it’s too hard to make prediction about the features of mobile phones. But it is sure that it will act like a successor of previous Sony Ericsson M600 model. Among the few sure things known about it is that it supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Moreover, it is a tri-band phone, which supports GSM900/1800/1900 networks.

The cell phone follows the path line set by the Sony M600i model when it comes to design. Instead of plastic, it now has a metal case. Even more, it shares the same keypad with the M600 phone model, as to provide QWERTY keyboard on the number buttons. Considering its simple design, this promises to be a considerably practical phone model, which will come as great help for information transfer with Bluetooth. Moreover, the Wi-Fi connectivity means that it can easily handle media, by downloading music, images and videos to be later listened or viewed.

Sony Ericsson M610i Lizy is sure to be equipped with a Megapixel Camera higher than M600 models’. It will probably be 3G and Symbian OS enabled. MP3 is likely to be the first audio support. And we are hoping the touchscreen capacity of recognizing handwriting, as it was the case with the other phone models. Crossing the finger, let’s hope that it will rock the market with its great features in market.

HP Pavilion tx2000z series

tx1000zseries_300.jpg

I’ve been looking to buy a laptop for myself. I’ve been surfing in the internet a lot and trying to get the best deal (minimum price for the top level configuration). Still, I haven’t had much of luck with my findings.

HP Pavilion tx2000z series is a cool Notebook actually with its new “Echo” inlaid design and light weight (4.3 lb) ultra portability feature. It has all that you need - a 12.1″ (diagonal) high-definition touch screen and it optimizes handwriting capture: you simply write on it with a dockable/rechargeable eraser pen without need of any batteries. And, the screen twists for easy viewing of documents and movies in cramped spaces. Cool huh?

Some other features of this notebook are:

  1. The tx2000z is equipped with powerful AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processors with HyperTransport technology. This improves system performance when running multiple applications. It has also been stated that these processors also supply enhanced virus protection as well as PowerNow for longer battery life.
  2. The high-definition, spacious 12.1″ diagonal display on this compact notebook means comfortable viewing that won’t strain your eyes.
  3. Swipe your finger across the optional integrated reader on the side of the panel to log on to your tx2000z and password-protected Web sites and documents.
  4. The tx2000z features the same finish as our other new Pavilion notebooks: a high-gloss black case with inlaid “Echo” pattern.
  5. You get 802.11b/g wireless LAN standard with these models, or you can upgrade to 802.11a/b/g.

tx2000zseries_300.jpg

These are just few of its feature. This sleazy looking notebook comes with a base configuration of price $1,299.99* which you can configure according to your need. Personally, I think it’s a great laptop but still can’t afford it. Dell’s Vostro 1500 with almost same configuration comes in a lot cheaper. But it fails to match the style and class of HP. My search is still on. Hope I’m not just wasting my time.

Yahoo ‘to reject Microsoft offer’

_44416680_microhoo_ap_203b.jpg

Microsoft is going to get shocked this Monday as several newspapers and news agencies have confirmed that Yahoo’s board will dismiss the $44.6bn (£22.9bn) offer as being inadequate.

Microsoft had offered $31 a share which was 62% above the level at which Yahoo’s shares was trading. Looked like a pretty decent deal to many at that time but Yahoo’s shares closed on Friday at $29.20. So, it’s pretty unlikely that the offer is going to be accepted. Predictions are that higher price may be offered by Microsoft. But Microsoft’s shares have fallen 12% since it made its offer, which may reflect concerns that it has already offered too much or that such a large deal would distract its management away from its core software business.

A source quoted by the Wall Street Journal said that Yahoo’s board would be unlikely to consider anything below $40 per share.

I wonder what Google is thinking right now. Must be laughing hahaha…
